VAT Exemption and Relief

VAT Exemption and Relief for Personal Alarms

Is the alarm eligible?

Personal alarms and careline systems can have VAT reduced from 20% to 0%. This can save you a significant amount of money.

To qualify for this reduction in cost there are three rules that alarm systems must meet;

  1. The alarm must be for personal or domestic use rather than use by a business. (Some charities are also eligible)

  2. The alarm must have been designed to be capable of operation by a disabled person

  3. The system must alert a specified person or a control centre. This control centre must hold information on the person using the alarm so they can help in an emergency.

The Personal Alarm Watch meets all these requirements. The majority of our customers get the watch with a reduction in VAT to £0.
